There is nothing any survivor can do to be believed. If they chose Option A they would be blamed for neglected the “obvious” option B and vice versa. Nikki is incredibly brave for testifying about the horror and torture she lived through for years. The why behind the so-called justice system failing her, as it fails so many, is not her emotional burden to bear. So she stayed; many of us do. So she “instigated” a fight?; it doesn’t justify having your genitals burnt.

If it is at all possible, I hope the well wishes and praise from these comments will reach her. Also, if there is any way to support Nikki, or her kids whether through donating to help with legal fees or writing letters, I (and I am sure other readers) would love to help out.
